Now who didn’t love the original flip phones? My first foray into this world was with my mums Motorola Razr Flip, what a beauty that was.

Flip phones have come back but not in the traditional sense, they’re mostly all touch screen and fold out to a tablet. Now, we have something like the original. All focused around switching off, but staying in touch.

The "What": A new ‘dumb phone’ but with a flip flavour. The light phone was created to help you switch off whilst still keeping connected, able to get around and listen to music or podcasts, without the danger of scrolling.

The "Why": For those of us that would rather keep connected without the distractions of modern digital life. The light phone offers best of both worlds without becoming a distraction.

Who says air quality monitors have to be boring?

The Birdie 2.0 is a classic example of Danish design, functional but with a well thought out form. When your air quality starts to reduce, the bird will drop forward to let you know. It definitely looks better than other air quality monitors, and just looks like a great bit of interior decor.

The "Why": Air quality is not something to take lightly, but you also don’t want to have a basic, boring looking monitor right?

Now this isn’t new, and I’ve used one of these for years , but it really is the best utility knife I’ve come across.

The "What": A well built Utility Knife by James Brand. Great build quality, removable blades for travel and replacement, all wrapped up in a perfectly sized package.

The "Why": Ever go to open a parcel or product and it’s wrapped in more tape than your dads old Honda Jazz? Having a utility knife that can live in your pocket or close by is a god send, also helps that it looks cool.

Film’s not dead! It can be a difficult one to get into it, but point and shoot offerings like the Kodak EC35 are a cheap and cheerful offering to start taking some film snaps.

The "What": A beginner-friendly point-and-shoot camera that strips away the complexity of film photography, with built in flash, 25mm fixed lens and slide cover, made by the film god’s Kodak.

The "Why": Film is really fun, but for the outsider it can be a big learning curve. Kodak have created a new point and shoot, that does exactly that. Getting into film with a simple camera is a the way to go.

I found these on Threads, unfortunately it was a post that people had been ripping them off and selling them. These are high quality wallpapers for desktop, phone and tablet and there are loads of variations.

The "What": High quality wallpaper pack focused around cutting mats with tonnes of variations for desktop, phone and tablets.

The "Why": Why have boring wallpapers when you can have beautiful ones? A lot of devices are so well made and really great bits of design, don’t let your wallpaper let it down!
